Founded in 2009 by All‐City Band Director Marcus Pimpleton, Band Jam is an outdoor marching band jamboree where spectators can enjoy full performances of the marching bands many typically see only in passing on parade routes. This non-competitive event, held each year the night before Seattle’s Torchlight Parade, is free and open to the public as a celebration of what we all know to be the best part of any parade – the bands.
Performances beginning at 6:30 pm are set to include Junior All-City Band, the Seismic Sound Drumline, the Kennedy Catholic High School Marching Band, the Rainbow City Band, the Sumner High School Marching Band, Seahawks Blue Thunder Drumline, Seattle Sounders Soundwave FC Band, and Seattle Schools All-City Marching Band. The event is free of charge. Food trucks will be on hand selling food concessions and Friends of All-City Band will also be selling merchandise. Please invite everyone you know. We expect to finish by 9:30.
Band Directors: This is a non-competitive event to showcase your skills and have fun with the other bands. Each band should plan to do a 15 minute performance on the field Memorial Stadium. If your band would like to participate in next year’s event, please send an email with the band name, number of participants, director’s name and contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
